Frequently Asked Questions

  • It’s common to wonder if your problems are “serious enough” for therapy. But if something is bothering you, whether it’s stress, self-doubt, relationship challenges, or just feeling stuck, it’s worth paying attention to. You don’t have to wait until things get worse to reach out for support.

Therapy can help you better understand yourself, navigate challenges with more clarity, and learn healthier ways of coping. Over time, many people find they feel more confident, connected, and in control of their emotions.

Your mental health matters, and you deserve to feel supported, understood, and empowered to live the life you want!

  • Before our first session, I’ll send you new client forms to complete electronically. These include background information about you as well as important information about the therapy process. We’ll review these together during our first meeting.

Our first session is a chance for us to begin getting to know one another and to make sure we’re a good fit. I’ll ask you questions about your history, what brought you to therapy, your goals, and how you’ve been coping. The initial appointment is different from future sessions, as it’s more about gathering information and laying the groundwork for our work together.

At the end of the appointment, we’ll talk about how often you’d like to meet and schedule your next session.

  • My physical office is located in Marietta (just north of Atlanta). Once inside building 50, my office is down the hall to your left. If you arrive early for your session you can use the shared waiting room to your right.

However, if you’re interested in attending online therapy, I am able to work with anyone located in the state of Georgia.

  • I offer online sessions through SimplePractice, a secure and HIPAA compliant platform designed for telehealth. About 15 minutes before our scheduled appointment, you’ll receive an email with a link to join the session. Sessions are 50 minutes in length and can be assessed through your phone, tablet, or computer.

Online therapy is a convenient and effective option if you are unable to attend therapy in-person, whether due to a busy schedule or simply wanting the comfort of your own space. However, please note that you must be physically located in Georgia at the time of your session.

  • The length of therapy is different for everyone. My recommendation is to start with weekly sessions and gradually decrease frequency as you gain insight and feel more confident using new coping skills. Some clients come to therapy for a few months to work through a specific challenge, while others find ongoing support helpful for a longer period of time.

We’ll work together to create a treatment plan that fits your needs and goals, and we’ll continue to check in along the way to make sure therapy is working for you.

  • I offer 50 minute individual sessions for $180.

Payment can be made via HSA or FSA card, or with a major debit/credit card.

I require all clients to keep a credit card on file in my confidential HIPAA compliant electronic health record.

  • I’m not in-network with insurance providers, however many clients are still able to receive partial reimbursement through their out-of-network benefits. If you’d like to use these benefits, I can provide you with a superbill (an itemized receipt) to submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

You’re welcome to contact your insurance company directly to learn more about your coverage, and I’m also happy to help. I partner with Thrizer to make the process easier. Through Thrizer, you can verify your out-of network benefits, upload superbills, and receive reimbursements directly to your bank account. Please reach out to me with any questions.
