Frequently Asked Questions About Therapy

  • Therapy can be helpful if you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, emotionally exhausted, or caught in patterns that are hard to break on your own. You don’t have to be in a crisis for therapy to be worthwhile.

Many of the adults I work with come to therapy because they’re struggling with anxiety, OCD, perfectionism, overthinking, self-doubt, stress, relationship concerns, or major life transitions. Sometimes people reach out because they’re tired of “holding it all together” while quietly feeling overwhelmed inside.

Therapy offers a space to slow down, better understand what you’re experiencing, and begin making changes that help you feel more grounded, confident, and like yourself again.

  • I specialize in working with adults who are navigating:

    • Anxiety

    • OCD

    • Perfectionism

    • Overthinking

    • Low self-esteem

    • Stress and burnout

    • Women’s issues

    • Life transitions

    • Relationship concerns

    • Emotional overwhelm

Many of my clients are high-achieving, thoughtful adults who look like they’re doing fine on the outside but feel anxious, stuck, or disconnected on the inside. Therapy can help you better understand these patterns and begin responding to yourself with more clarity and compassion.

  • The first therapy session is a chance for us to get to know each other and begin understanding what brings you in.

We’ll talk about what you’ve been struggling with, what you’d like support with, and any goals you have for therapy. I may also ask about your history, relationships, stressors, and patterns you’ve noticed in your life. You do not need to have everything figured out before you come in.

My goal is to help you feel comfortable, understood, and not judged. The first session is not about “getting it perfect” — it’s simply a place to start.

  • Most clients begin therapy by meeting weekly. Weekly sessions can help create consistency, build momentum, and give you space to work through concerns more effectively.

Over time, depending on your goals and progress, some clients choose to transition to biweekly sessions. The frequency of therapy is something we can decide together based on your needs, schedule, and what feels most supportive for you.

  • There isn’t a one-size-fits-all answer to this. The length of therapy depends on your goals, what you’re working through, and the kind of support you’re looking for.

Some people come to therapy for support during a specific season of life, while others want a deeper space for long-term growth and healing. Whether you’re looking for short-term support or ongoing therapy, we can talk together about what makes sense for you.

  • Yes. I offer online therapy to adults located anywhere in Georgia.

Virtual therapy sessions are held through a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform and can be attended from the comfort of your home or another private space. Many clients find online therapy to be convenient, effective, and easier to fit into busy schedules.

As long as you are physically located in Georgia at the time of your session, we can meet virtually.

  • My office is located in Marietta, Georgia, and I also offer online therapy across Georgia.

Whether you’re looking for in-person therapy near Atlanta or virtual therapy anywhere in the state, I aim to make the process of getting support feel as approachable and comfortable as possible.

  • My fee is $180 per 50-minute session.

Payment can be made via HSA or FSA card, or with a major debit/credit card.

I know that starting therapy is a meaningful investment, and I’m happy to answer any questions you may have about fees, payment, or what to expect before getting started.

  • I am out-of-network with insurance, which means I do not directly bill insurance companies.

However, if your insurance plan includes out-of-network mental health benefits, you may be able to receive partial reimbursement for sessions. Many clients choose to use these benefits to help offset the cost of therapy.

If you’d like to use these benefits, I can provide you with a superbill (an itemized receipt) to submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

You’re welcome to contact your insurance company directly to learn more about your coverage, and I’m also happy to help. I partner with Thrizer to make the process easier. Through Thrizer, you can verify your out-of network benefits, upload superbills, and receive reimbursements directly to your bank account. Please reach out to me with any questions.
